Ring Automotive has released a new range of five air compressors to help road users ensure tyre pressures are correct for their vehicles and, hopefully, in turn keep accident numbers down.

This new range improves on a similar range of air compressors released late last year. Improvements include a deflation function on certain models and a far simpler way to store the power cable – this now wraps around the back of the unit rather than being squished into a recess at the back.

We took a look at the RAC630 (priced £32.99), which is an automatic digital compressor with an inbuilt LED torch. Working it couldn’t be easier: plug the unit into a 12V socket (there’s plenty of cable so you can rely on a neighbouring car if necessary), switch it on and then switch it off again when you’ve reached the right psi value.
