Honda’s zero-emission fuel cell supercar concept – the FC Sport design study model – has been revealed at the LA Auto Show.

The hydrogen-powered, three-seat sports car concept demonstrates the design potential and flexibility of Honda’s fuel cell technology, already used in the FCX Clarity, and offers a glimpse at how supercars of the future may look.

The concept shows how Honda could re-invent car design rules with its fuel cell powertrain that negates the need for bulky car components like an internal combustion engine and gearbox.

The NISSAN GT-R supercar has won the Most Advanced Technology Award, one of the highly coveted awards of Car of the Year Japan 2008-2009.

The final selection, conducted by the Car of the Year Japan Executive Committee, took place from November 10-11 at Oiso, Kanagawa prefecture. In awarding winner, the jury cited the NISSAN GT-R “as a supercar that delivers powerful performance and clean emission, featuring an advanced new body structure combining carbon, aluminium and steel, in addition to its impressive dual-clutch transmission and the world’s first independent transaxle 4WD”.

And with seven diamonds embedded in the bodywork, it is sure to be a jewel among the 200 supercars on display.

The Ferrari California finally makes its official debut at the Paris Show today after a series of special previews on the web and during two dedicated events staged in Maranello and Los Angeles at which it received a hugely enthusiastic reception.
