Blaupunkt | | Are you one of those people who avoid sat-navs because they do everything a road atlas does, only they make it twice as complicated? Well, if you are, the Blaupunkt TravelPilot 100 might just change your mind with its simple, 'no frills attached' approach to getting you from A to B. There's none of the extra electrickery which has been such a turn-off for you with this technology so far, just straightforward, uncomplicated route planning from a sat-nav which can quickly and reliably calculate journeys. The TravelPilot 100 unit can also switch automatically from day to night mode and warn of speed traps if so desired. It is pre-installed with UK and Ireland mapping and costs £99.99 from Blue Spot Car Audio. If you think the only purpose of a sat-nav is to tell you where to go, then this Blaupunkt will not disappoint. Interested? | | Blue Spot Car Audio 01993 811115 www.bluespot.co.uk |
| | Garmin | | If you worry about leaving your sat-nav in your car, either on display or in the glovebox, then look no further. The latest pocket-sized nuvi 2 series from Garmin helps avoid the worry of leaving valuables on-show with its portable, lightweight design. This series of sat-navs is also great if you find that the typical 3.5in screen size of most budget sat-navs are just too small to be of any use as a wider 4.3in unit is also available. The nuvi 2 series is exclusive to Halfords, with prices starting at £149.99. An established name in the sat-nav market, Garmin units are reliable but, more importantly, reasonably priced. Get up and go with Garmin!
