Simple Sat-Nav
| | If ever there was a satellite navigation system made to suit all folk then it has to be this one. The TravelPilot 100 from Blaupunkt is plain and simple with no frills and makes driving enjoyable as it doesn't interrupt your train of thought. We tested the TravelPilot over a series of trips across the country and found you couldn't help but be impressed, as it was so easy to use. A large blue button on the front switches the sat-nav on and off, volume keys are on full display and from then on it's plain sailing as you tap in your details. You don't even need to reach for the instruction manual as you can't help but get it right as you just press the symbols on view. The company say "simplicity is the key to this unit" and we can't argue with that, as it does everything you want to get from A to B without all the extra add-ons confusing matters. If you don't have a cigarette lighter socket then no worries because it holds its charge for hours. The TP 100 has a recommended price of £99.99 and for that, you get all the usual attachments with both UK and Ireland mapping installed in the unit. Overall, it's a big thumbs-up as it delivers what it promises. | | Call 01993 811115 www.bluespot.co.uk |
| | Performing Seals
| | Following recent expansion, Seals + Direct Ltd have now incorporated more than 120 new automotive rubber seals and trims into their new catalogue. As well as their standard range of 400-plus items, the new sections include door seals, edge trims, window rubbers, sponge rubber sections and specialist seals for many vehicles including Triumph Stags, Spitfires, Heralds and the TRs range. The catalogue is aimed at all sectors of the car market from the kit car builder through to classics, and even up to modern vehicles. It shows actual size images as well as a photograph of each seal to aid easy identification. The majority of items are sold by the metre so you can buy just enough for the job in hand. To obtain your free copy of the catalogue, you can either call 0845 226 3345 or visit the company's website at www.sealsdirect.co.uk to download a copy or browse the items on line.

| | Smarty Pants
| | Smart by name, but is it smart by nature? The company motto states "we believe smart people deserve smart products" so we put the professional car care kit by Smart Wax to the test and were left very impressed with the results. Inside the pack, you get a bottle of wash, wax and dressing and it's simply a case of one following the other. Luckily, the unpredictable British weather allowed us to try it through a mixture of conditions, as one minute there was sunshine quickly followed by rain and then blustery wind. It was easy to apply and really easy to wipe off and after a few rubs with a microfibre cloth, the car was quickly shining. In fact, up to two weeks later, the car was still looking clean and polished. Another plus factor was that it had a pleasant smell, too, so you don't suffer the normal chemical vapours you get from many cleaning products on the market. Overall, all three bottles delivered what they promised. Visit www.smartwax.net or call 01920 420868 to find your nearest distributor. All bottles can also be bought separately.

| | Up on the roof
| | There can't be too many car owners out there who like roof racks. The reason being there is always the danger the bags or other bulky stuff you want to carry can cause scratches or dents. But here's a product to stop you fretting - the HandiHoldall roof bag. Last year, we mentioned an inflatable roof rack called HandiRack. Well, the roof bag is designed to be used in conjunction with the rack, giving the motorist an additional 280 litres of storage space. Manufactured from high-quality, waterproof denier polyester, the HandiHoldall, priced £79.99, takes minutes to attach and it stands firm, as the base is reinforced with glass-fibre poles. It is small enough to store in the boot.

| | Hard top help
| | Does your Triumph have a detachable hard top? In that case, you have obviously come across the problem of where to store it when removed. We have been given details of a stand made by Cover Systems that will offer your hard top protection instead of leaving it discarded on the floor or propped up somewhere where the slightest nudge can send it tumbling over. The beauty of the stand is that it can easily come apart and it will fit into your boot with a couple of flicks from a spanner after dismantling it. The stand is finished in a red powder coating and it's available with wheels, tool tray, hard top bag, and hard top stand cover. The stand is priced at £107, with free GB delivery, with an indoor cover costing £30 and an outdoor one £44. Whether it's attending events or simply while you are working on your car in the garage, the stand is an excellent idea. | | Contact 01933 410851 www.cover-systems.co.uk |
