JAGUAR XK - XK Starter Button

Q
The starter button on my 2007 XK requires, at times, three pushes before the engine fires; this situation may occur whether the engine is cold or warm, dry or damp.
The local dealer has replaced all parts that could possibly be at fault including the remote key fob, but with no joy! It cannot explain why the 'Check Remote' message still appears. Do you have any suggestions or have you perhaps heard of similar problems with this XK model?

A
While we cannot provide a definitive answer, there have been several issues relating to the starting circuit, including a service action to reprogram several of the onboard systems. There have also been cases where the battery within the remote has worked loose, and instances (mainly prior to sale) where the cover over the slot in the centre console for the remote to plug in to has not closed properly, causing the transit relay to remain in use.
