MINI Cooper - Scratched Seat Backs

Q
Having owned my MINI Cooper for just over a year and having bought it secondhand, I noticed that the previous owners had damaged and scratched the backs of the drivers and passengers seats. I am not all that handy around the car and wondered if you would ever contemplate a fixing guide to show how I would go about fitting new backs to my seats? I know other MINI owners who also have damage to the seats and I would love to see a section for us women who would love to have a go at something more manly, but without tinkering with engines and ICE upgrades.

A
You're quite right, our fixing features in Modern MINI need to cater for a wider audience than simply those who like to tinker with engines and ICE upgrades. We have covered removing the seat backs when we showed how to strip down a seat and replace the seat frame. This can be found in the May 2008 issue of Modern MINI on pages 36-40. However, we will look into whether or not the seat backs can be removed with the seats in situ and try to produce a more straightforward fixing guide on this subject in the near future.
